Guide to Giving
Below is list of the funds that Temple members have the opportunity to
contribute to.
Adult Education Fund -
Contributions to the Adult Education Fund solely support Temple Sinai's Distinguished Lecture Series, which has brought such noted speakers as Nobel Prize Laureate Elie Wiesel, Secretary of State Henry Kissinger, and Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Barak to our community.
Bible Fund -
Contributions to the Bible Fund enable the Temple to purchase Bibles, as they are needed, for congregational use. Monies not utilized during the year are transferred into the Temple's general fund. ($36.00 min.)
Book of Life -
Contributions to the Book of Life are made to eternally record special occasions and family milestones such as birthdays, anniversaries, births, weddings and Bar/Bat Mitzvahs. The Book of Life, located next to the Temple office, is opened each morning to display the name of a loved one each year on the anniversary of a milestone. These contributions support the Temple's general operation, programs and activities. ($36.00 min.)
Book of Remembrance -
Like the Book of Life, the Book of Remembrance is located next to the Temple office and contributions to it memorialize loved ones. The name of a loved one will be recorded on the date of his or her passing and every year the Book will be opened on that date for all to view. These contributions support the Temple's general operation, programs and activities. ($36.00 min.)
Building Fund -
Contributions to this fund come from new members to the Temple and are only used for capital improvements. These expenditures are subject to Board approval.
Choir and Organ Fund -
Contributions to this fund support the choir and organ line of the budget and the general fund.
Clergy's Discretionary Funds -

Rabbi Gordon
Cantor Schwartz
Contributions are made to the clergy's discretionary funds in recognition and appreciation of their exceptional spiritual guidance and leadership, as well as in appreciation of their officiating at life cycle events. These contributions enable the clergy to help less fortunate members of the congregation or community at large, support individual projects or charitable institutions.
Fine Arts Fund -
Contributions to the Fine Arts Fund enable the Temple to acquire unique objects of Judaica and Jewish artwork.
Library Fund -
Contributions to the Library Fund are used to purchase books and publications. Monies not expended during the fiscal year are transferred to the general fund.
Memorial Fund -
Contributions to the Memorial Fund are made to commemorate the death of a loved one, and are used to support the Temple's general operation, programs and activities.
Prayer Book Fund -
Contributions to this fund are used to purchase prayer books, as needed, for the congregation and are also used to support the Temple's general operation, programs and activities.
Scholarship Fund -
Contributions to this fund are used solely to provide camp scholarships or subsidize trips to Israel for Religious School students.
Simcha Fund -
Contributions made to the Simcha Fund in honor of a milestone event or special occasion are used to support the Temple's general operation, programs and activities.
Social Action/Community Affairs Fund -
Contributions to this fund support Temple Sinai's broad range of social action activities. Including the Yom Kippur food drive, "Gleanings," Hatzilu luncheon, Mitzvah Day, and Passover food drive. These expenditures are subject to Board approval.
Torah Fund -
Contributions to this fund will be used to maintain, restore and/or repair our Torah scrolls.
Youth Fund -
Contributions to this fund exclusively enable the Temple to sponsor family oriented youth activities such as special events and family outings.
